Waze has launched a soccer-themed in-car experience just in time for the 2022 World Cup. Users can now enjoy playful and engaging soccer commentaries as voice navigation while driving. The experience is named “Drive with Luva de Pedreiro” for Brazilian users, in partnership with the popular Brazilian soccer commentator, and “Drive with a commentator” for users worldwide. It is available in English, French, and Spanish, allowing drivers globally to show their support for their favorite teams in a fun way.
Once activated, the soccer-themed in-car experience will give you playful directions like “Take the first exit and then it’s onward to glory!” or “Hazard reported ahead. Getting past that defense could be tricky.”
Although Brazil did not win the 2022 World Cup, Waze was a big winner in terms of earned media, including international mentions. The “Luva de Pedreiro” co-pilot experience was especially popular, with over 2 million drivers using it simultaneously, making it one of the most downloaded in-car experiences on Waze.”
